The 2015 Buick Encore comes with some changes as the vehicle enters its third year. The Buick Encore is the entry Buick model in the small luxury SUV market. The small, tall subcompact crossover utility vehicle is aimed at consumers who reside in cities, and in need of a small utility vehicle for everyday commute. The new Encore combines high efficiency with some luxury features.
2014 vs 2015 Encore
Just like the 2014 model, Buick Encore 2015 model will be offered in four trim levels: Base, Convenience, Leather and Premium. There will be no major changes between these two.
2015 Encore body style
When it comes to design, the 5-passenger 2015 Encore Redesign is miles ahead others; it will turn heads wherever it goes. It is well crafted and feature-filled!
It shares same underpinnings with the Chevrolet Sonic subcompact. It features an aggressive but elegant body, which conveys a tough look that disguises its tall boxy shape. It rides on 18-inch wheels. At 168 inches long, the 2015 Encore is 10 inches shorter than the compact Honda CR-V. This small dimension helps improve maneuverability in tight space, but this philosophy does not extend beyond the exterior.
The interior of the 2015 Encore Redesign is ingenious designed with some premium materials, and it comes with purposeful technology and flexible storage. Just like the 2014 model, all Buick Encore 2015 models come standard with a rearview camera and can run selected smartphone apps via Bluetooth.
The 2015 Encore was designed with passengers’ interest at heart; there is plenty of room all around the interior. The wide and high seats are comfortable and they provide a good view above traffic. They also ease entry and exit. Although shoulder and hip room at the back are inadequate, there’s ample legroom even for 6-footers. The Encore’s interior flexibility helps increase the cargo space offered by the vehicle. With the front passenger and rear seats in place, the vehicle has 18.8 cubic feet of space, but when they are folded, the space expands to around 48.4 cubes.
2015 Encore Engine
There will hardly be any 2015 Encore changes under the hood of the new Buick Encore. A major drawback observed in the 2014 model is the sluggish acceleration (it takes close to 10 seconds to achieve 60 mph mark). This will not be different in the 2015 model. Just like its predecessor, a 1.4-liter engine turbocharged four-cylinder that supplies a miserly 140 HP and torque of 200 Nm at 1,850 rpm will power the new Encore model. This Encore model offers a 6-speed transmission and 4-WD drive system. The disappointment from the not-so-impressive engine is cushioned by Encore’s above average fuel economy and exceptionally quietness.
According to information available, the Buick Encore 2015 front wheel drive version will weigh about 3,190 pounds, while the vehicle will weigh 3309 pounds when equipped with an all-wheel drive.
Handling and Suspension
If you are in the market for a crossover utility vehicle with smooth handling, sound responsiveness and excellent maneuverability, Encore 2015 should be first on your list. Handling is smooth, if not sporty, and buyers are assured of an enjoyable ride on the new Encore. The vehicle offers good stability with its McPherson front suspension and rear torsion beam and reasonable steering precision.
Safety
The current Buick Encore is already well equipped on the safety front, so no 2015 Encore changes is expected in this area. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2014 Encore “Good” in its side-impact, roof strength and crash moderate-overlap front-offset tests, while In government crash tests, the all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive version got a five-star and four-star ratings respectively for overall crash protection. The two versions got five-star ratings in both the frontal-impact and side-impact test.
The 2014 Buick Encore comes with standard safety features like a rear view camera, an antilock disc brakes, 10 airbags (front-seat knee airbags, side curtain airbags, front and rear side airbags), OnStar system, and traction and stability control. The convenience trim features a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alerts, while a lane departure warning and forward collision warning systems are standard on the Premium trim. All these are expected to be carried over in the 2015 model year.
Release Date and Price
The release date and pricing information for the Encore 2015 is not available at the moment. A fully equipped 2014 model is offered at around $33,000, and because of their many similarities, we expect the 2015 model to be similarly priced.

bought my wife a 2014 Encore premium. She absolutely loves it, all the bells and whistles, Onstar, Nav. When my lease is up on my Nissan I will be buying one of these. One thing, it needs a power liftgate. Thank you Buick.

iI AM DIVING A 2013 ENCORE AND MY LEASE IS UP IN JULY 2014. WILL THE 2015 HAVE AN AUTOMATIC OPENING OF THE HATCHBACK? IT IS A STRUGGLE AT TIMES FOR ME TO CLOSE THE LID?

Other minor exterior sculpturing changes. No change to the engine, hip room and other improvement. I drive a Cadillac SRX now and like the feature that the side mirrors can be adjusted to drop when transmission is placed in the reverse mode – excellent to view curbs and other obstacles. If you like to know the direct marketing dept. contact reply. If interested in a 2014 model “with the key” if you know how to buy a car the right way the discounted pricing is very good but you must review all the available incentives – the price will be the best.

I bought a 2014 Buick Encore and LOVE it. Now I find the 2015 will have a push button start and now I am disappointed that I did not wait for this. I still LOVE my Encore anyway and hope I do not have any problems with the start switch. Have you heard of any problems with the Encore start switch?

Agree better armrest. Have 2013 great car. But 66yr old. Want power lift tailgate, or might not get 2015, don’t think you did it

Hopefully the 2015 Buick encore will consider widening the front seat arm rest.
