The next generation Nissan Titan that was scheduled to debut early this year will now release on September 2013 and will make an appearance as a 2014 Nissan Titan, according to Nissan.
2014 Titan King Cab and Crew cab model
When Nissan Titan 2014 will release in September 2013, it will be offered with two bodies – King Cab and Crew Cab body. There is basically no major change when compared to 2013 Titan. Like 2013 Titan, this pick-up truck will be available with S, SV, PRO-4X and SL models. The King Cab comes with wheel base of 138.9 inches while Crew Cab comes with 159.5 inches. All models will come with same engine option; a 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 engine will be installed under the hood. The towing capacity of this new Titan will be up to 9,500 lbs.
The full-size Nissan Titan pickup made its first appearance in the market in 2004. It is one of the oldest platforms in the highly competitive full-size segment. There is a manufacturing plant in Canton, Mississippi, United States where Nissan produces the pickup trucks for North American market. Just like the Infiniti QX56 and Nissan Armada SUVs, the Nissan Titan is built on the stretched Nissan F-Alpha platform.
Every manufacturer of the full size trucks has started introducing different engine options in their line-ups. Everyone wants to offer higher miles per gallon while still ensuring that their trucks come with all the expected capabilities of a full-size pickup. While power and engine performance are important to trucks, the fuel figure could gain even higher importance. We have already witnessed how the Ford F-150 Ecoboost became more popular after the introduction of a fuel efficient turbo-charged V8 engine, and the Ram 1500 also came with a Pentastar engine with an eight speed transmission system. One could have thought that the company will follow this trend by introducing a new powertrain in the Nissan Titan 2014 model so as to boost its miles per gallon figure.
One of the reasons attributed to the poor performance of the 2013 Nissan Titan against the Toyota, Ford, Dodge, Chevy and many other vehicles in its segment was that the old Titan’s powertrain and the exterior styling were some of the things that were not changed. In the market of stiffer competition, a stellar 2014 Titan is an important step for Nissan to be in the market. Unfortunately there will be no new powertrain and the styling will not go through any major cosmetic enhancement.
Interior features
Nissan Titan 2014 is equipped with the latest in-dash infotainment systems like 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, Bluetooth, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system and DVD Entertainment System with fold-down 8.0-inch LCD monitor.
There will be an exclusive lockable, climate-resistant bedside storage compartment which is situated just near the driver’s side rear wheel well.
2014 Titan Engine options
According to sources, Nissan Titan 2014 will be offered with a 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 engine with an output of 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. Though we expected the introduction of a turbocharged engine mated with a six or seven speed automatic transmission, but it seems that Nissan will continue with its previous 5 speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

Estimated mpg for Nissan Titan 2014 is 13/18 mpg , city/highway for 4X2 models and 12/17 mpg for 4×4 models.
However, The 220 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque rated turbocharged 2.8-litre (170 ci) diesel engine in the 2014 Titan is a version of the Cummins ISF that became popular outside the United State. So, it features exhaust scrubbers and a passive NOx storage so as to meet regulations in the US. Its combined EPA is estimated at 28 mpg.
2014 Nissan Titan Price
Though there has been no official announcement regarding the price of 2014 Titan, but we can speculate that there will be no major change in price. It may start with base price of $29,270

So Ford has a ‘V8 six-cylinder’ engine? I am no mechanic, but that doesn’t seem right.

Nissan haven’t seem to changed anything in the styling of the Titan truck. It could add to a disadvantage in their marketing strategy but it adds a sense of similarity in the models running from 2004 till 2013. Even after the release of 2014 model, the appearance will still follow the similarity but it will definitely out-date the older models.
I personally don’t feel the need to get the 2014 model since my 2004 model isin’t that old. After all, it has been only 22K miles on road and I will probably keep it for a longer duration. However, people keen to study about new cars may definitely have a look at the new 2014 model of Nisan Titan.
