When you are thinking of specialize road machine, the Toyota Land Cruiser must come to your mind. After taking a year’s break, The Land Cruiser’s back; the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser will start entering the dealerships in February. It is still huge with its off-road talents and it retains its body-on-frame design. It is still one of the most impressive off-road vehicle money can buy. Although one thing has changed, the amount of money you will need to get one has increased. With the arrival of the full-size, American-minded 2013 Toyota Sequoia which is less expensive, many car enthusiasts are now talking about 2013 Toyota Sequoia vs 2013 Land Cruiser.
While interior refinements, inspiring size, smooth handling, high performing engine and low noise intrusion are exciting features of the eight-seat 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser. The uninspiring look, choppy ride and sticker price of $77,955 are what reduce its appeal most. It comes with a huge price tag and a huge appetite for fuel (traits that put it in direct conflict with its sibling). It is so expensive; most off-road enthusiasts will not be able to afford it, and might want to look at a more affordable vehicle like Land Rover or the 2013 Sequoia. Pricing details of the Sequoia has not been released, but we expect a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price range of between $41,955 and $62,570.
Powertrain of 2013 Land Cruiser and 2013 Toyota Sequoia
The Land Cruiser 2013 will use the same powertrain used by its predecessors. The 5.7-litre V-8 engine carried over from the previous model will deliver 381 horsepower and 401-pound-feet of torque. A high-tech Kinetic Dynamic Suspension (KDSS) which helps its off road capacity and a six-speed automatic transmission system is also available.
Do you want a Sequoia with a 4.6L V8 engine which delivers 310 HP and 327 LB/Feet of torque? You should get it now. Just like the land cruiser, the Sequoia 2013 model will come standard with a 5.7-litre V8 engine which is rated at 381 horsepower and 401-pound-feet of torque, and it works with a six-speed automatic transmission system. Apart from the change in the engine line-up, the Sequoia remains largely the same. The four-door seven, eight-passenger Sequoia model will be available in three trim levels: SR5, Limited and Platinum. A four-wheel drive and a rear-wheel drive have also been planned. It should be able to achieve 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds.
Land Cruiser 2013 and 2013 Sequoia will both come with standard safety features like electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes and tire pressure monitoring system, but we have not established if the land cruiser will also have driver and front passenger knee airbags.
Which is better? 2013 Toyota Sequoia or 2013 Land Cruiser
Reasons why you should pick Sequoia 2013 model over 2013 Land cruiser includes:
- It has a roomier interior
- It has more luxurious amenities.
- You will get the same powertrain and similar safety features, at a cheaper price.
- It is more attractively designed
There is still a place in the world for the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser, it can do many things, and reach places where the 2013 Toyota Sequoia will not dare go. But for these obvious reasons listed above, the Sequoia wins this round. Go and get a Sequoia!

The Nissan Armada, Infinity QX and Nissan Patrol are not even in the same league as the Sequoia and Land Cruiser. I have had both. Toyota/Lexus wins hands down.

Both of these are of high place in the company’s history, but Sequoia is more massive than its rival. Straightforwardly speaking, Landcruiser is more well-designed than the Sequoia specially as regards the rear side and tail lamps. By the way they CAN’T compete by Nissan Patrol Diamod 60th edition or its luxurious version namely the legendary Infiniti Qx56 of 2013. Toyota should hide the marks showing the Sequoia’s origin which is based on a truck meaning Tundra and instead of that is to make use of more chrome in sides and mirrors. Wheels are to be bigger and shiny.
