2014 Toyota Highlander was the first car unveiled at the auto show on Wednesday. The third- generation mid-size SUV is aimed at a broad consumer base. The long- awaited car features a gas-electric hybrid powertrain and stop-start technology (that shuts down the engine at red lights), these give it better gas mileage than the conventional Crosstrek. According to Subaru, like the gas model, the hybrid car also has 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
Mercedes-Benz is known for its classy touch, and the CLA 45 AMG unveiled in New York is a clear evidence of how classy Mercedes can get. Competition in the already competitive compact sedan segment is about to get even more intense when this new car gets to the market. It is powered by a turbo four-cylinder engine rated at 355-horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It is offered with a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive.
We all applauded Cadillac it released the current compact ATS sports sedan and the premium brand became an instant hit. There is no doubt about it; the new model displayed in New York will even be more successful when it gets to the market. This 2014 model is even bigger, prettier and more luxurious!

The new Chevrolet Camaro is built with a 7.0-liter V8 engine paired with a six-speed transmission. The engine delivers up to 500 horsepower and nearly as much torque. The car comes with a revised suspension that improves its racetrack performance, and according to GM, the carmaker, the car will be faster than the current top-dog Camaro ZL1. The car comes with some tasteful styling tweaks and it is offered in matte-white paint.
General Motors Company came to the New York International Auto show to showcase its redesigned 2014 Buick LaCrosse. The mid-sized luxury sedan has a sculpted body shape with a new grill, which helps it to reduce aerodynamic and improve fuel efficiency. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 184 horsepower is the standard engine, with an optional 271 HP 3.2-liter Pentastar V6.
Land Rover’s Range Rover Sport has made its official debut in New York. The Rover Sport borrows some design cues from the full-size Range Rover and the compact Evoque crossover. Thanks to an aluminum structure, the 2014 Range Rover is 700 pounds lighter than the 2103 model. The smaller Sport model also shed more than 800 pounds. Combined fuel economy is estimated at 23 and 21 mpg in the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations respectively. The car is expected to hit dealerships later this summer.
Rolls-Royce also displayed the Wraith, but we have already seen the luxury vehicle at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Some of the other new cars unveiled at 2013 New York auto show include Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid and Infiniti QX60 Hybrid.
One thing is obvious here; new SUVs and hybrid vehicles have taken over the stage. Mid-sized SUV have become the staple vehicle of families, this explains why most of the cars unveiled at 2013 New York Auto Show are mid-sized SUVs.

With over 1000 models displayed at the New York Auto Show, it would be tough to decide which model would have made the most memorable impression. Apparently, I can easily forget some of the models. With Corvette being displayed in convertible as well as coupe forms, it easily gathered applause with its attitude, vents and the Stingray looks. I would rate the F-Type from Jaguar as the long-promising gorgeous embodiment of the classic styling. It could halt the traffic on road and make thousands of people turn around to catch a look of its stylish body..
