Toyota has a tradition of offering exceptional cars. In fact, it is one of the most popular car brands in the world. The renowned automaker is poised to cement its position as a leader in the industry as it prepares for the release of an all-new 2015 Toyota Highlander.
We have already seen the design preview of the incoming car on Toyota’s official website, but the Japanese automaker has not disclosed the technical details of it; we should learn more about it at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November or at Detroit Show in January. Fortunately, we have gotten an idea of what to expect from some of our sources.
According to a reliable source, the Highlander 2015 version will come up with some major changes. These include some styling (a more aggressive exterior and a more premium interior) and performance related changes.
2015 Toyota highlander Cargo Space
Although the Highlander will boast of a bigger cargo room and get more aggressive in the 2015 model year, the 2015 Highlander family car will have same cargo design as its predecessor and you will still find three rows of seat inside it. The length grows by three inches, while its waistline will be half an inch bigger. Thanks to this increase in length and waistline, the rear cargo room of the vehicle will increase by 34 percent while the third row’s width will increase by 4.3-inches. As a result of a new folding second row seat and one-step sliding, access to the third row is expected to increase by around three extra inches.
Features
The all new Toyota Highlander 2015 model will come with some standard equipment such as the Toyota Entune system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth, back-up camera and Hill-start Assist Control. Other impressive add-ons expected include a heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory settings, heated and vented front seats, heated second row captain’s chairs, automatic cruise control, second-row sunshades and a one-touch power lift-gate.
Engine
According to Toyota, the incoming Highlander will still rely on the same powertrains used by the current model; we should expect Highlander 2015 model to be built with a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine. An option of a 3.5-liter V6 or 3.5-liter V6 Hybrid engine will also be offered. A 6-speed automatic will replace the current model’s 5-speed auto.
Unlike other future cars, the new Toyota Highlander will not have any fuel economy system, but some money-saving features have been added to the car. There is the new Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive system, which works by adding power and speed to the vehicle. This system will improve the vehicle’s efficiency by one to two mile per gallon on the highway. Just like the previous Highlanders, the new Highlander will be available as either FWD or 4WD. It will offer an all-wheel drive lock function which can transfer power up to 50/50 front-to-rear. When this is not needed, it goes back to full front-wheel-drive for maximum performance.
2015 Toyota highlander Safety Features
According to Toyota, more safety features will also be offered on the 2015 Highlander. The safety features will now include a blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and a pre-collision system.
Toyota also promised that the suspension system and steering settings will be improved on the Highlander, so as to deliver better driving dynamics.
2015 Toyota Highlander Release Date and Price
Details about the 2015 Toyota Highlander release date and price has not been released. The vehicle should be on sale by late 2014 or early 2015. The exact price is expected to be released shortly before the official release. Buyers should not expect the price to deviate too much from the previous model.
Toyota Highlander has always been the right choice of car for those who are in the market for impressive cargo space and exceptional driving experience. With a larger cargo space, roomier third row, sound deadening and better efficiency, i believe that the improved Toyota Highlander 2015 will carry on the success recorded by its predecessors in the large crossover segment for yet another year.
