While the Nissan crossover vehicles, 2015 Nissan Murano and 2015 Nissan Rogue are yet to be substituted, the automaker has already announced the hybrid versions of these crossovers. It was at the annual presentation of Nissan products when the vice president of Nissan R&D, Carla Bailo publicized the news about the release of these hybrid designs in the market within an year, most probably as the 2015 models.
Nissan had recently added an option for gas-electric in its latest version of Pathfinder. Going by the trend, the news of Rogue’s and Murano’s hybrid models makes all sense. Nissan representatives restated Nissan’s commitment towards hybridization and electrification of its models. Given the next generation crossover for Rogue will be revealed this year, the Rogue hybrid too will be revealed before the Murano hybrid. Teaser video that was released by Nissan last year had shown glimpses of the brand’s debut through last month. We can expect the Murano crossover to be released next year. There are more chances of the hybrid versions utilizing variations in powertrain that is being used in Pathfinder hybrid and an electric motor paired with four cylinders.
There is no news on the redesign of Murano however, one can expect it to resemble the Resonance concept from Nissan but we have a near guarantee of not having a CrossCabriolet hybrid
