From what we have heard, Toyota is not only planning for an all-electric RAV4 EV, there is also a plan for a traditional 2014 Toyota RAV4. Some people have even spotted the car during testing. From a spy shots we got, we noticed some really interesting updates. These are what you should expect from the new model.

Before I go into the updates, let me warn you. The Toyota 2014 RAV4 is coming to impress every one. Even the harshest critic will buy one when it hits the market! We all know what a Toyota stands for: high performance and beautiful design. The new Recreational Active Vehicle with a 4-wheel-drive will give more credence to Toyota as a stand-out auto brand.

The 2014 RAV4 will still come with that great shape we love on the 2012 model. We believe that features like the tailpipe design, low reflectors and spoiler will not change, but we noticed there were updates in the front end. The hood and fenders were pushed higher up than the current model to make it less intimidating. This we believe was done to meet up with the new pedestrian safety regulations.

With all the makeover we noticed, the incoming Toyota RAV4 2014 definitely look prettier than the current model. The rear also received some cosmetic enhancement. There is now a longer wheelbase, and it is coming with a new taillight that extends to the lift-gate to increase visibility. A special addition is that the hinge of the tailgate is at the top, so it will open upward. We also noticed that there is no more external spare wheel. We could not get a good look at the rear window, but we will not be surprised if it was not touched.

Although we did not get to see the interior, we expect Toyota to provide us with a better definition of beauty with the design language and the fascia that will be more assertive than we have seen before. We also expect Toyota to use some high-quality materials in the interior; we are looking forward to an improved luggage space and a better designed dashboard. Many features like LED daytime running lights, heated rear seats and a touchscreen multimedia system are expected to come with the 2014 RAV4.

As for the Toyota 2014 RAV4’s engine and the power options, in keeping with its high reputation for producing powerful and high performing vehicles, we expect the engine to be an extension of the engine on the current model. The 4 cylinder V6 engine will be re-engineered, and the incoming vehicle will be lighter in a bid to increase its fuel efficiency and reduce its carbon emissions in readiness to the safety standards will soon be introduced.

There have been some rumours; many things that have been said about the Toyota RAV4 2014 are unconfirmed as of now. We heard from a reliable source that a number of turbo charged and naturally- aspirated BMW engines for both four and front wheel and automatic or manual gearboxes will be offered in Europe.

One thing we are sure of is that the 2014 Toyota RAV4 will start its production journey before the end of the year and it will be ready for the market in mid-2013.
