When Nissan Versa sedan was introduced some years ago, a new hatchback sidekick didn’t come along with it. Nissan has finally decided to rectify this, and a new Nissan 2014 Versa note was unveiled at the last Detroit Auto Show.
2014 Versa Note Styling and design
The 2014 Nissan Versa gets an entirely new styling and it rides on the same V architecture used by the sedan. The most notable exterior features are the steep windshield and the sculpted doors.
In Europe, the Note falls into the semi-premium segment of small cars, but the U.S. spec will not. That’s because the U.S. spec of the hatchback comes with a restyled interior. Thanks to the relatively long 102.4-inch wheelbase, the hatchback has a roomy cabin; the new Versa Note has 115.5 cubic-feet of interior space (25.3 cubic-feet more than the sedan version) and Nissan boasts its new car has best-in-class cargo space at 21.4 cubic-feet.
The 2014 Nissan Versa Note features some optional niceties like cruise control, a map light, a larger audio display, power windows, a rear-seat armrest, Bluetooth connectivity, and a reconfigurable cargo area divider. Its list of standard features includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated seats, four-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input, navigation, backup camera, hands-free text messaging, Nissan Intelligent Access key with push-button start, and 16-inch wheels.
Powertrain
Fans of the Note’s naturally aspirated and supercharged 1.2-liter I-3s will be disappointed with what goes on under the hood of U.S.-spec Nissan 2014 Versa note. The new Nissan Versa Note will arrive in the U.S. with only a 1.6-liter I-4 rated at 109 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. But the I-3 cannot be rule out completely; it can still come later on. According to Andy Palmer, Nissan executive vice president of global planning, the engine could still make it to the U.S. if there is high demand for it.
Trims
There are four trims offered on the 2014 Nissan Versa Note: S, S Plus, SV, and SL.
Like, every other Nissan car, the new front wheel Versa Note uses a continuously variable transmission, but the base S model uses a five-speed manual transmission. A few other differences between the trim levels include four-way front bucket seats on S and S Plus models, and six-way seats with armrest on the SV and SL models.
Buyers should expect the 2014 Nissan Versa to have high fuel economy numbers. Fuel economy estimates given by the automaker shows that the CVT models will get 31/40/35 mpg city/highway/combined EPA ratings. The high highway rating for CVT models comes courtesy of some aerodynamic tricks like Active Grille Shutters.
Safety Features
The 2014 Nissan Versa Note features some impressive safety features like Brake Assist and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Easy-Fill Tire Alert, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction control system (TCS) and Advanced Air Bag System (AABS)
The 2014 Nissan Versa Note is scheduled to be released this fall, but Nissan has not released the full pricing information, but it has pegged the starting price at $14,840.

The model isin’t much different than what already exists in the market however the price is competitive. The looks are not that impressive with the base models having manual tranny and 5spd. The interiors look cheap, but it is still better compared to previous models. The front end is good but didn’t like the rear.
I would rather wait for an exciting sport package.
