2014 Ford Fiesta

It is a fact; Mini Countryman is currently the only tiny-crossover car! This is about to change, the production of Ford Fiesta 2014 model is just about to start. The photos taken by a spy photographer shows us that the compact hatchback and the four-door sedan will get a mid-cycle face lift. Fiesta is the smallest Ford produced for the U.S. market, and it will continue to work with the larger Ford Focus to deliver cars that are highly fuel-efficient and well-equipped to the market.

A teaser photo of the newly introduced version of the crossover called the Ford EcoSport Fiesta designed for emerging markets was leaked out earlier this month on a Ford website in India. The photos shows that the 2014 Ford fiesta models design is quite similar to the recently revealed 2013 Ford escape, and if you pay attention to Ford’s global design strategy, you will know that the upcoming car’s design will be similar to the U.S. and European versions of the car.

From the photos, we noticed that the new car is riding high but still modern. The new compact 2014 Fiesta crossover will be a smart option for any buyer that loves to experience the high-riding convenience a SUV offers, the agility of a crossover, gas mileage and the ease of parking of a compact car. We also expect the new Fiesta to continue to attract consumers with high incomes.

Ford Fiesta 2014 Changes

The 2014 Fiesta model will not undergo any radical change, but ford fans must be ready for some serious cosmetic enhancements. Up front, thinner elements will replace the “dragon eye” headlight that is on the current model. The last model produced has large lower intake design and a thin upper grille; this will be replaced by a higher and merged layout, a larger upper grille with horizontal slats between a smaller opening below and the headlights. At the rear ends the hatchback and sedan will also get some enhancements as well. With the reshaped trunk-lid and new taillights we expect on the sedan trim, it will look more like the Focus sedan. The hatchback’s rear bumper was heavily camouflaged in the photos we saw, so we believe Ford is planning a big surprise for the Fiesta fans. There is a single, big and round exhaust we noticed in the rear end of the hatchback, but this may be there to mislead us or just a test addition.

2014 Fiesta Engines

Under the hood of the Ford Fiesta 2014, we expect the engine and gearbox to be stronger so as to be able to cope with the increase in weight, but it will still follow the footsteps of previous Fiesta models. A new direct-injected, turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder Eco-Boost engine (this would replace a 4-cylinder engine in U.S.) rated at 120-hp will be available. Although we expect an all four wheels drive, Ford has not said anything about this.

Release Date and Price

Just like the release date, Ford has not confirmed the pricing information of the 2014 Ford Fiesta, but it is safe to assume that the crossover car which will debut at showrooms sometime in 2013 will have a base price of around $20,000, just a bit lower than that of the 2013 Focus.
