There have been rumors about the Chevrolet Corvette 2014 model. While some of the rumors you have heard are true, many of them have not been confirmed and these Chevy vehicles are unlikely to be true. One thing is sure though- when the car gets to the dealerships, it will compete with Ferrari and Lamborghini for buyers’ attention.

The Corvette’s has faithfully kept an exterior design for the past 13 years. At first glance, you may think that the new model is just an evolutionary version of the all American supercar but on closer look you will notice that it comes with some few changes. Camaro-like rear taillights, side vents, and a window in the rear are some of the noticeable features of the car.

The Chevy C7 trim retains the basic proportions of the current model. Some of the new exterior features of the 2014 Corvette C7 specification include a subdued B-pillar, slimmed-down rear haunches and a visual drama on the side view. All these subtle changes stretched its visual length without increasing its weight.

A thorough interior makeover has also been billed for the awaited 2014 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and C7. Although their interior dimensions are likely to stay the same, we have heard from some reliable sources that the materials and the seats (which have been due for an enhancement for a while) will be upgraded to a level comparable with those found in Porsches and BMWs.

In order to meet up with GM’s ambitious 3000-pound weight target, the C7 was constructed like an aircraft. A three-rail space frame was used so as to achieve this purpose. The hydro-formed aluminium sheet which was used on the 2014 Corvette ZR1 specification was also used on the C7. To further reduce the curb weight, the car will ride on Michelin tires with narrow rubber.

GM’s chief engineer Tadge Juechter and his team developed a radical mid-engineered Corvette. But due to GM’s bankruptcy and some other issues, an old engine designed for the C6 would be used by the C7. But there will still be some slight changes under the hood; the engine will be a more comprehensive one. A front-mounted, high-rev 3.0-litre V-8 engine lies under the hood of the 2014 Corvette C7 specification. Thanks to a twin-turbocharging system, the engine delivers 400 horsepower. A higher performing V-8 engine will power the high end models such as the 2014 Corvette ZR1 specification and Z06 supercars.

The Chevrolet Corvette C7 coupe is expected to start at around $52,000 and the price moves up to about $115,000 for the ZR1 trim. With a low curb weight and high performing engine, the 2014 Corvette is worth waiting for.
