General Motors Company has unveiled the 2014 LaCrosse at the New York International Auto show. The new LaCrosse is aimed at buyers who admire the vintage styling drama and budget-friendly features.
2014 Buick LaCrosse Redesigned
The new LaCrossse is engaging and sophisticatedly styled. Buick took some styling cues from the new Chevy Impala when designing Buick LaCrosse 2014 model. A large waterfall grille is notable upfront. There is also the LED eyeliner which gives the car an aggressive demeanor and some active grille shutters that close at highway speeds to improve aerodynamics. At the back, the led taillights are tied together with a slim chrome strip across the trunk lid.
The 2014 Buick LaCrosse facelift takes comfort, convenience and refinement to a higher level. The cabin is made from some highly crafted premium materials. 2014 Buick LaCrosse is billed as just a premium sedan. And yet its Interior appointments and refinement in its cabin can compete with those in cars in the luxury segment. The remodeled interior comes with a center stack which has been remolded into a less complex shape. Upper trims get upgraded perforated leather and ventilated heating and cooling features; Buick’s ‘Quiet Tuning’ philosophy is also available across the line-up. With the contrasting French seam stitching, smoked-chrome accents, a new uncluttered dash and many system upgrades, Buick has elevated luxury in the LaCrosse to a whole new level.
The 2014 LaCrosse also comes with a high level of seating comfort that cannot be experienced with other mid-size sedans. There is space for five passengers and a back seat space for three more.
2014 Buick LaCrosse safety
When it comes to safety features, the redesigned 2014 LaCrosse is also in a world of its own; it comes some of the best safety features in the entire GM family! It comes with eight standard airbags including rear side thorax bags and adaptive cornering headlamps. Buick LaCrosse 2014 also features some advanced safety features like radar- and camera-based Side Blind Zone Alert, Automatic Collision Preparation, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, and a head-up display (HUD). All these systems work with the Safety Alert Seat, which sends vibration pulses along with some visual or audio alerts to warn of impending danger.
2014 LaCrosse performance
Just like the previous model, the 2014 LaCrosse will still offer the eAssist mild-hybrid system. The system is made up of a 182-hp, 2.4-liter direct-injected Ecotec engine mated to a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. There is also a 304-hp, direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 paired with a six speed which is available as a front- or all-wheel drive. Buick has not released the fuel-economy figures of the new car, but with the eAssist system, the 2013 model recorded a mileage claim of 25 and 36 mpg in the city and on the highway respectively, while the V-6 model got 17/27 in FWD and 17/26 mpg as an all-wheel drive variant.
2014 Buick LaCrosse handles better than the previous models. In the Touring trim, with the optional magnetic adjustable suspension, variable-effort power steering and V-rated performance tires, it gets a more responsive feel that does not affect ride quality.
