2013 Toyota Sequoia

The four-door 2013 Toyota Sequoia remains the biggest Toyota SUV that is capable of towing a trailer even as it transports the whole family in total comfort. The Sequoia can seat up to eight people. It competes with the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition and Nissan Armada. It is built on a single platform that uses the body-on-frame construction. It features a four-wheel independent suspension system which helps in providing high ride quality, control and smooth handling.

All the eight seating positions the Sequoia offers enough room that will comfortably accommodate people, even those that are above normal height. The dash has a finish that is common with most luxury cars. The exceptional interior comfort extends beyond the seat space to the trunk space; it can carry item that are up to 11 feet long. The cargo area can be extended to about 120.1 cubic feet by folding the second- and third-row seats.

Just like the previous model, the Toyota Sequoia 2013 model is available in three trim levels:

  1. SR5
  2. Limited and
  3. Platinum.

The 2013 Sequoia comes with some advanced technological features, one of those is the Blu-Ray rear-seat entertainment system. It is the first Toyota model to offer this system. There is also a new blind-spot monitoring system and headlamp washers on all the trim levels. The top-of-the-class platinum trim has many standard features including second-row heated seats, reverse-linked tilt functions, a rear load-levelling air suspension, puddle lamps, navigation, position memory, a 14-speaker sound system and an adaptive cruise control. The large side-view mirrors on the limited trim feature power retraction, turn-signal lamps and an automatic glare-resistance. All the three trims come with a Graphite or Sand Beige interior but a Red Rock interior is also available on the Platinum trim, and the Sport Appearance Package of the SR5 trim uses a black interior.

Following the discontinuation of the 4.6-liter V-8 from the Sequoia’s line-up, the Toyota Sequoia 2013 model will be offered with just a 381 HP and 401 LB-FT new 5.7-liter engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine comes with dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). it has an estimated fuel economy rates of 13 and 17 mpg in the city and on the highway respectively for the four-wheel drive model and 13/18 mpg for the rear -wheel drive model. The engine can achieve 0-60 in 7.2 seconds.

Some of the standard safety features the 2013 Sequoia has are: driver and front passenger knee airbags, and tire pressure monitoring system. Like other Toyota models, it will also have Toyota’s STAR Safety System, which includes electronic stability and traction control, an Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Smart Stop Technology (SST). On the 4WD models, the traction control is replaced by an Active-Traction Control.

The 2013 Toyota Sequoia has a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price range of $41,955 to $62,570.
