All 2013 4Runner features a rugged bumper and wide fender flare. The base SR5 and Trail edition rides on 17-inchess aluminum alloy wheels, while the limited trim rides on 20 inches. The Trail edition was prepared for every off-road adventure you may want to embark upon. It was designed with a superior approach; it has high ground clearance, departure angles and many functional necessities for its tough duties. The interior of every model was designed to accommodate up to seven passengers with its optional third-row seat.

2013 4Runner Engine and Fuel Economy

Under the hood, the new 4Runner has a 270 horsepower and 278 pound/feet of torque rated 4.0-litre V6 engine mated to a five-speed ECT-i automatic transmission. It comes with a standard rear-wheel drive, and two optional four-wheel drives (a part-time four-wheel drive and full-time multi-mode four-wheel drive configurations). With an EPA-estimated of 17/ 22 mpg, its fuel economy ratings can compete with some car-based SUVs.

Handling

The Toyota 4Runner 2013 model combines its rugged body with a variable-flow rack, a double-wishbone independent front suspension and pinion steering. These give precise control and smooth handling on demanding roads.

To ensure that the limited model gets improved performance and handling, a standard X-REAS suspension system was included. This system allows vehicles to handle corners easily and choppy surfaces smoothly by automatically adjusting damping force when negotiating a corner or driving on rough surfaces. Toyota’s Crawl Control (CRAWL) feature is a standard feature of the trail trim and a Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) will be offered as an option. The CRAWL ensures that the vehicle stays within the appropriate speed level so as to maintain control and reduce the load on the suspension components and the KDSS disconnects stabilizer bars so as to give room for the axle travel, and more suspension articulation when driving on a difficult terrain.

Automatic running boards have been newly included to the feature list of the SR5 and Limited trim. The SR5 and Trail grade features a manual air conditioning system and the Limited trim have a new Display Audio and an automatic dual-zone climate-control system.

Stability and traction control, Anti-lock Brake System, Brake Assist, Smart Stop Technology and eight standard airbags are standard Toyota Star Safety System, but an active driver and passenger headrests and three-point seat belts on all seats are new safety features on the Toyota 4Runner 2013 model. The base price of the 2013 Toyota 4Runner ranges from $31,340 to $40,880 depending to the trim level.
