A new Suzuki sx4 crossover will enter U.S. showrooms sometime this year as a 2013 Suzuki sx4 crossover model. The Suzuki SX4 comes in two body styles; it comes as a subcompact sedan or hatchback. It is powered by four-cylinder engines in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. Since its introduction, the Suzuki sx4 AWD crossover (SX4 Crossover with Suzuki’s 3-mode Intelligent All-Wheel Drive) has been America’s lowest-priced all-wheel-drive car.
The SX4 crossover 2013 carries over from the 2012 model but receives a revised front fascia and some interior enhancements. It is sporty and versatile; the new vehicle has attractive looks and great value. It competes with the Nissan Versa, Honda Fit, Chevrolet Aveo and the Subaru Impreza.
2013 Suzuki SX4 Trims
Just like the four door sedan (which comes in LE, LE Popular, and Sport SE trims), the five-door 2013 SX4 crossover is available in 3 trims; Base, Premium, and Tech Value Pkg trims. But unlike the sedan (offered in front-wheel drive configuration), the sport-back comes as either a front-wheel or an Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (I-AWD) model.
Unlike the base and premium trims, the 2013 SX4 Crossover Tech Value Pkg AWD has a Rear bumper brush guard and Front fog driving lamps with chrome surround as its exterior features.
The 2013 Suzuki sx4 AWD crossover is powered by a 150-hp and 140 lbs.-ft. 2.0 litre, DOHC, inline 4 cylinder, 16-valve, digital fuel injection engine mated with a six-speed manual transmission. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional. The 2013 Suzuki sx4 crossover retains the MacPherson struts up front and a rear torsion beam. The all-wheel drive combines with a well-connected steering, 4-wheel disc brake and an all-season rubber to give the crossover a really smooth handling.
Safety Features
The SX4 crossover 2013 model’s passive safety features include the standard eight airbags (the front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger frontal airbags, and side-curtain airbags which gives additional protection to the front-seat and outboard rear-seat passengers) and a reinforced body structure which combined with front and rear crumple zones to help reduce energy from sudden impact.
Its class-leading active safety features include the standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with traction control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and the four-wheel disc brakes with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD).
Convenience features
The SX4 2012 model was already well equipped for its price. All its models came with cool standard features like air conditioning, a good sound system, power windows and keyless entry. Option features include Sirius Satellite Radio, keyless start, and a Bluetooth system.
Standard features in the 2013 SX4 crossover base trim include Electronic Stability and traction control, front, rear, side-impact and side-curtain airbags. Sport SE and Tech Value trims come with navigation system, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, sport pedals, and heated outside mirrors. The Tech Value Pkg AWD comes with heated driver and front passenger seats, a Bluetooth hands-free Calling, and an Integrated Voice-Activated GPS Navigation & Audio System with Real-Time Traffic Service. Sedan models come with 17-inch alloy wheels and upgraded shocks.
The 2013 Suzuki sx4 AWD crossover MSRP ranges from $16,999 to $20,499 for the manual base trim level to the automatic 2013 SX4 Crossover Tech Value Pkg AWD.
