2013 Nissan Xterra Review

Some years ago, body-on-frame SUVs took over the roads in U.S. Most of the major automakers were producing some kind of four-wheel “monster”. Nissan produced the Nissan Xterra, and at its peak, it sold around 90,000 copies. The 2013 Nissan Xterra is compactly built on the renowned Nissan F-Alpha truck platform. It is targeted at car enthusiasts. If you love spacious and powerful SUV that can confront any rough terrain without fear, Nissan Xterra 2013 is made for you. It is a real SUV that is not “CUV-ified”!

2013 Nissan Xterra Changes

It is a fact that times are changing, Pathfinder like some vehicles has changed! Nissan has good news for all pathfinder lovers. With the 2013 Nissan Xterra, Nissan is not changing that much.  The vehicle will come out with minimal changes. Buyers will still enjoy the vehicle’s off-road chops and truck-ish charm. So, if you are planning for some off-road adventures or you are in need of a functional vehicle for your day to day activities, you will still have to patronise the Nissan.

The four-door SUV is expected to follow the footsteps of the last model; we expect it to be available in three different trim levels: X, S and Pro-4X. The X and S trims will be available in either RWD or 4WD, and the Pro-4X will be available in 4WD. There is little information available about the upcoming 2013 Xterra at the moment. We do not know the features that are changing, and those that will not change now, but if the three trims eventually come again, many amenities that will make driving a total pleasure will also come. The following are some of the features we expect:

  • leather upholstery
  • Adjustable driver seat
  • Power windows, door locks, and mirrors
  • Keyless entry
  • Cruise control
  • Six-speaker CD stereo
  • hill-descent control
  • Off-road tires
  • skid plates
  • hill-start assist
  • electronic locking rear differential
  • step rails
  • Cargo organization system
  • Cross and fog lamps

Even though the essentials listed above will likely come with the car, the not so luxurious features like heated seats, rear view camera and navigation system will be missing on the feature list. Nevertheless, we expect the 2013 Xterra to have safety features like: front and curtain airbags, ABS, traction control and gas shock absorber.

The five passengers 2013 Xterra will have some pretty, but basic cabin decor. The automaker will drop the basic interior design. Although it will not be luxurious, there will be some modern features and a design to keep up with the trends. The roofline will be higher, so as to make it roomier and give it extra storage space.

The Nissan Xterra 2013 will sit on 16 inch aluminium wheels, and we expect a V6 engine that can offer 261 horsepower and torque of 281 lb. ft to accompany it. The limited trims will likely come with a 5-speed manual transmission. We expect the mileage of Nissan Xterra 2013 to be 16 mpg and 20 mpg in city and on the highway respectively. It will definitely offer better on-road performance than the current model.

We heard from a reliable source that the 2013 Nissan Xterra SUV will not be expensive. The price will range from $24,000 to $32,000 depending on the trim. So, who will not like to buy one when it is released?
