With daily increment in gas prices, every driver has something to complain about. However, with the new car Nissan is about to release, you can fill up your tank while smiling. With the 1.6L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that will deliver 109 horsepower, the EPA of 2013 Nissan Versa is rated at 31 and 40 mpg in the city and on the highway respectively; this is an improvement on 30/38 mpg in the city/highway recorded for the current model. This fuel efficiency is not the only thing that is amazing about this car. Read on as we introduce the 2013 Nissan Versa Sedan to you.
2013 Nissan Versa Trims and fuel economy
The about-to-be released Nissan Versa 2013 Sedan will have some more standard features. Three trims level will be available: 1.6 S, 1.6 SL and 1.6 SV. There is also a Versa hatchback planned for 2013, but it is just a revamp of the previous-generation Versa. The S trim will come with three different transmission systems: the CVT, a new four-speed automatic transmission and a five-speed manual transmission. It looks like the four-speed automatic was added to bring down the cost a little bit; it has the least mileage of around 26/35 mpg. There is no official confirmation about release of 2013 Versa Hatchback model yet, however it is confirmed that 2012 Versa Hatchback will go on sale through calendar year 2012.
2013 Versa changes
Although the 2012 model has a curvier roofline and some new proportions that increased the cabin space and a new sheet-metal, the 2013 Versa will have blunter front end and more modern design details. The effect of this new design will necessarily not make the car more beautiful, but it actually made it more sophisticated.
Like we pointed earlier, there are many new features coming and some old features will also make a return in the 2013 Versa. These are the features you should expect:
- keyless-entry system
- Sun-visor extensions
- HUD-style trip computer
- Remote trunk release
- Engine immobilizer
- 5-inch QVGA colour touchscreen monitor
- Bluetooth
- AM/FM stereo with a CD player
- Satellite Radio
- Navigation system
- Auxiliary input jack for MP3 and iPod
What is a car without a brake? The braking system is arguably the most important in a car. It does not matter what car you use or where you drive it, the brake will always be important. A quick stop will make the difference between a close call and a fender-bender. The engineers know this, and they gave full attention to the braking system when they were building the new 2013 Nissan Versa. It will make use of an Electronic Brake-force Distribution system; a four-wheel anti-lock braking system that will bring the car to a complete stop even on icy roads.
Safety Features of Nissan Versa 2013
With features like six roof-mounted and side airbags around you to protect you from all directions, Traction Control System (TCS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and crumple zones that can absorb and deflect crash energy away from passengers, Nissan has done everything possible to protect you in the worst case scenario.
The 2013 Nissan Versa sedan will go on sale in August. Pricing information for the car has not been announced yet. But with an improved mileage, more features, active and passive safety systems, and larger trunk space, with which you can move 14.8 cubic feet of cargo at once (this is specially made for those long trips you may want to go with your family or friends), you should wait for this car.
