There have been rumours going on that a new Armada is coming soon. Nissan is working to introduce five models in 2013. Pathfinder, Titan and Armada are all going through some cosmetic enhancement. There are speculations that the changes are planned for the 2014 model year because the engineers and designers were delayed due to challenges Nissan faced recently. Different released dates have been mentioned by industry watchers, we can conclude that the 2013 Nissan Armada will enter showrooms in the U.S. by late 2013 (around September or October).
Box-like shaped vehicles like the Jeep Commander and the Land Cruiser 1985-1988 model to name a few are always well received in the market. No matter the competition in the market, buyers’ reactions to them are always great. Although a completely new design would have been preferable, we believe that the Nissan Armada 2013 and the 2013 Nissan Titan will take some design tips from the current Nissan Patrol and the Infiniti QX. If it does, it will unfortunately look like one of the new QX-56 lines. The stupid looking Pep-Boys plastic air vents that will be on the front quarter panels will look beautiful when you take a second look at them. Although the 2013 Armada is more aerodynamic, it will have an un-aerodynamic front fascia.
2013 Armada Changes
The interior of the 2013 Armada will be as stunning as its exterior. In the Guide De L’Auto ratings where the vehicle was rated at 78%, the interior got a 100% rating. We expect features like Phantom 24-inch wheels, 22-inch exhaust pipe, limo tint, tinted tails, LED package, ELM327 Bluetooth and Billet grille combo among others to come with this SUV.
2013 Armada Engines/Powertrain
One good thing about Nissan is that it knows how to spring surprises. No one can tell, the Nissan Armada 2013 may come out with a bag full of surprises. One thing we are sure of is that the automaker will try to boost the efficiency level of the Armada. We saw how pathfinder was turned from a block of blunt force to an aerodynamic brute. It will be interesting to see what will be done to increase the performance of this massive vehicle. From what we heard from our source, we should expect a V8 5.6-litres engine that can deliver 317 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and Torque of 385 lb·ft at 3,400 rpm to make an entering. We have not confirmed if the V8 engine will be Turbocharged or Supercharged engine, but we know that it will be aspirated. We have also heard that the engine will have a 5-speed automatic transmission system and atmospheric induction. With this expected engine, we believe that 0-100 km/h can be achieved within 9.1 seconds and 80-120 km/h within just 8.2 seconds.
2013 Nissan Armada Safety Features
The steering will have rack and pinion, and variable assist, Traction and Stability control will be present, there will be 7 Seat belts and 6 Airbags for maximum protection in case of a crash and with the disc ABS on front and rear brakes, the braking distance will be 44.3 metres.
The 2013 Nissan Armada base price should be around $50,000 when it finally reaches the show rooms, and it will compete with Toyota Sequoia, Dodge Durango, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Tahoe among others.
