2013 Honda Crosstour

Honda is known for always displaying production-ready designs as concepts. So, the Crosstour concept we have seen earlier is more or less the 2013 Honda Crosstour. Honda has confirmed that the new car will come with some minor changes. It will wear a more capable-looking exterior styling and some new transmission systems will also come along (the 4-cylinder engine will have a 5-speed automatic, and a 6-speed automatic has been planned for the V6 engine). Instead of the five-spoke, 19-inch wheels we saw on the concept, the new car will roll on 18-inch wheels.

Although most of us do not like the long, sloping roofline we saw on the previous model, the Honda Crosstour 2013 models’ roofline will look just the same. Like I said earlier, minor changes are expected. Many things will remain unchanged! The exterior enhancement is restricted to its front and rear fascias. The bulbous grille surround and plain, chunky bumpers have disappeared from the front. There is now a large, two-bar grille and the bezels are now chrome.

Standard and Safety Features of 2013 Honda Crosstour

Honda is still hiding the interior detail of the 2013 Crosstour from us, but the renowned automaker has disclosed that a proximity key with a starter button, an eight-inch infotainment display, and a V6 paddle shifters are the major changes that will be found inside the car.

A number of safety features will be made available. These include Forward Collision Technology and lane departure warning system. These two features make use of a camera on the windshield that monitors the road ahead, ultimately alerting the driver to lane departures and possible collisions. The Lane-Watch system makes use of another camera mounted on the passenger’s side mirror. This gives the driver a clear view of the passenger-side roadway. Apart from these modern technological features in the Honda Crosstour 2013, there are also the re-shaped headrests, a back-up camera and a large driver’s mirror. With all these safety features and driving aid features, the new model Honda Crosstour will suit you perfectly if you do not want to bother checking the surroundings while driving.

Crosstour 2013 Powertrain

The four-cylinder Crosstour variant (a 192 horsepower rated 2.4-litre DOHC I-4) that was used in the previous Crosstour model will make a return in the 2013 Crosstour. It is suitable for those who do not have a need for sheer power, but for fuel economy. The six-cylinder models will continue to be powered by a 271-HP, 3.5-litre, DOHC V-6 engine, and it will have a cylinder deactivation mechanism which will allow it to work with three- or four-cylinders. For the second time, the four-cylinder models will have an EPA rating of around 21/29 mpg in the city and on the highway. Front-wheel-drive 2012 models with the five-speed automatic are rated 18/27 mpg, while the all-wheel-drive models have EPA ratings of 18/26 mpg. Thanks to the new 6-speed transmission, the six-cylinder models’ fuel-economy ratings will increase.

2013 Honda Crosstour Price and Release Date

As of this moment, pricing information and on-sale date has not been announced. We expect the car to be launched later this fall, so pricing details will be release around that time. The current model’s price ranges from $28,465 for the four-cylinder, FWD model to $37,350 for the V-6, AWD model with navigation system and leather upholstery.
