2013 Ford Expedition King Ranch

Some years ago the Expedition was refreshed with some updates, but a new Ford Expedition arrives for the 2013 model year largely unchanged. The full-size body-on-frame SUV comes in two body styles: the regular Expedition and the extended-wheelbase Expedition EL. The two body styles are both offered in three trim levels: the base XLT, Limited and 2013 King Ranch trims.

Other exterior standard features on the 2013 King Ranch Expedition are a Chrome grille, Chrome exhaust tip, Fog lamps, Dual-reflector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, Pale Adobe Metallic lower bodyside cladding and wheel-lip moldings, Unique King Ranch Badge, Chrome-capped heated power mirrors, rear doors and liftgate glass, integrated blind spot mirrors, and Solar-tinted windshield and front door windows. Optional exterior features on the 2013 Expedition King Ranch are a Power moonroof and Power-deployable running boards.

The new Ford Expedition offers more than just an eye-catching exterior design; the interior is also attractively designed and features some impressive convenience features. It has a spacious passenger cabin and cargo room. The 2013 King Ranch EL interior includes 1st-row low-back Chaparral perforated leather-trimmed seats featuring two levels of both heated and cooled settings with a King Ranch logo on the center armrest, 2-way adjustable head restraints, and ten-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats (including power lumbar and recline).

Under the hood of the 2013 Ford expedition King Ranch, there is a 5.4L V8 engine paired with a smooth six-speed automatic transmission which generates 310 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft of torque for the vehicle. A Multivalve technology (three valves per cylinder) used which improves air circulation in the engine increases the horsepower delivered by the engine. More low-end torque for tasks such as towing was also generated by the wide 6-gear spread.

This 5.4L engine in the 2013 King Ranch is flex-fuel capable; it is able to accommodate standard gasoline, E85, or any mix of these two. Rear-wheel drive is standard but buyers can go for a four-wheel drive with low-range gearing. The estimated fuel economy figure of the vehicle is between 13 mpg and 18 mpg

Considering the 2013 Expedition King Ranch’s big size, driving it is quite easy thanks to precise and responsive steering and a good suspension. It uses an Independent rear suspension with Variable assist power rack-and-pinion steering, and Front and rear stabilizer bars for improve performance. An optional load-leveling rear air suspension is also available; this helps in keeping the vehicle level by automatically releasing air in the springs. It is designed to give a smoother handling and improve the general performance in difficult terrain or during steering maneuvers, acceleration and braking.

Safety Features

2013 King Ranch EL comes with safety features such as Three-point safety belts at all seating positions, standard airbags, an AdvanceTrac with roll stability control (RSC), a four-wheel disc Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Adaptive stroking steering column and Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

The 2013 King Ranch Expedition has an MSRP of $51,355.
