2013 Chrysler Town and Country Overview

With the introduction of the 4-door, 7-seat Passenger 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, Chrysler has taken the competition higher in the minivan segment. 2013 Honda Odyssey and 2013 Toyota Sienna must come up with more luxurious spin if they wish to have a say in the market. With brilliant seating arrangement and some top-of-the-class features in and out, this van is a mile ahead of its competitors. Its versatility, practicability and the comfort it offers are legendary! In America, many reviewers have awarded it the class leader even when some automakers have not showed us their plans for the model year.

The 2013 Town and Country edition will undergo just some minimal changes. There are plans to do a major overhaul very soon; probably on the 2014 or 2015 model. So, the model will just be a trendier alternative for the 2013 Grand Caravan. With that been said, three trim levels will be offered for this model year.

2013 Town and Country Trims

The 3 trims available ranging from the Touring trim to the Limited includes:

  • Touring Front-Wheel Drive LWB Passenger Van
  • Touring-L Front-Wheel Drive LWB Passenger Van
  • Limited Front-Wheel Drive LWB Passenger Van

2013 Chrysler Town and Country Powertrains and Price Details

Chrysler has not released the price details of the van, but we expect just a slight jump from the 2012 pricing. The base price will likely be from $31,000 to $41,000 depending on the trim level. All the trims on offer will be powered by a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine but with different performance level. With this engine, the minivan can accelerate between 0-60 mph in 7.7 seconds. The $29,995 rated Touring trim’s V6 engine is expected to deliver 283hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a standard six speed automatic with manual shift and has a mileage of 17/ 25 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway. The $39,995 rated Limited trim has the same mileage and also comes with a standard Automatic transmission system.

Features like a tilt and telescoping steering column, Smartbeam headlamps, remote keyless entry, a navigation system, remote start, power sliding doors, satellite radio, tire pressure monitor and steering wheel mounted audio controls are standard on all 2013 Town and Country Trims. The stand out feature is the Stow’n Go seats (the middle and the rear seats can be folded into the floor). When you combine all these impressive features with new stain-repelling seat trim, what you get is a friendly vehicle.

Safety Features

Just like it always does, Chrysler equipped the 2013 Town and Country with some safety amenities to make the minivan a true leader in the class. Antilock brakes (ensures easy stop on icy and wet roads) and antiskid ESC (this prevents vehicle from skidding off the road even in extreme handling situations) are standard in all trims, and there is the optional blind spot warning system (this alerts the drivers of unseen objects like a coming vehicle).

Although the attraction for Crossovers and SUVs among buyers in America is increasing by the day, the utility and comfort a minivan offers is rare, and this will continue at least for another year with the release of the 2013 Chrysler Town and Country.
