2013 Acura RDX Review

For the new 2013 Acura RDX the manufacturer took what was good in the previous models; the right size, attractive design and nimble handling, made them even better and worked on what was not good enough.

In the 2013 RDX, the powertrain and the balky transmission has been smoothed over. Even when most car manufacturers are going in the opposite direction, the small 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has been replaced by a bigger 3.5-liter V6.  Acura said they did this in order to improve on its fuel efficiency and drivability. Their argument is that the turbo-4 does not have a direct fuel injection system that would improve its fuel-sipping. The good thing is that as fuel efficient the V6 is, it will still give an impressive 273 HP at 6,200 rpm. So, in place of a small engine, we now have a bigger and more efficient engine!

The Acura RDX 2013 will easily give you speed on a highway with its 50 MPH and move just like you would expect a luxurious car to do. It will turn big bumps to nothing but a little challenge and still function maximally in windy sections. The new included two-stage dampers with the secondary floating piston ensure that a drive in the car is not only comfortable, but also easy. The balky transmission noticed in the previous models can still be slightly felt, but this is also noticeable in most front-wheel and all-wheel drive cars.

On the outside, the 2013 RDX is a bit different from the 2012 edition; the fender arches are more noticeable, the noticeable grille has been reduced, and the design looks cleaner and more mature. The interior is new, in place of the hard plastic; there are now soft, matte-finish items. The cabin is more comfortable and quieter, and there is more leg room in the front.  There are the adjustable seat and telescoping steering column that will suit all body types.

2013 Acura RDX price is yet to be released, but we may not have to wait too long. The 2013 Acura RDX release date is getting closer. We should expect the price to be between $35,000 and $41, 000 according to options available.
